L.C. and Tommy Tobey, Jurors
When L.C. and Tommy Tobey moved to McKinney's historic district, they developed an at-home studio where they could share their enthusiasm for stained and fused glass. Both had full-time jobs, but they found time to become involved in McKinney's growing arts community. L.C. joined the staff at Chestnut Square, working as the Office Manager. She and Tommy were the first artists to begin selling their art at the Farmer's Market, and paved the way for artists to have booths there. Their glass creations frequently "sold out" on a Saturday morning, and they developed a following of patrons from as far south as Dallas.
L.C. was introduced to Annie Royer and immediately joined Annie in laying the foundation for the Arts and Music Guild. She completed the legal filings, managed the bookkeeping, and she and Tommy were involved in every Guild event. L.C. and Tommy Tobey also opened their home studio in McKinney's historic district as MAST artists. Their work and delightful studio captured the attention of the Dallas Morning News, which ran a full-page feature story on their studio and their involvement in MAST.
In 2015, L.C. and Tommy relocated to Florida. As quickly as possible, they created a lovely glass studio in their new home and set to work developing a cooperative gallery in their community. Their dedication to their Florida arts community has taken them to new heights of influence and responsibility (see their CV below). Through friends and social media, they are in touch with the beautiful growth of the arts community in and around McKinney, and are pleased bring their experience as professional artists and leaders in the arts to assist with MAST 2023.
